The Canadian Hurricane Centre is predicting an above average storm season this year, mainly due to record warm water temperatures in the Atlantic Ocean. Meanwhile, the mayor of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality says some parts of the region are still recovering from devastation of Hurricane Fiona in 2022 – while working toward being adequately prepared for future storms.
