White Rock is deferring a project to make Canada’s longest pier accessible to those in wheelchairs. Installing a special mat to cover the planks of the 110-year-old pier would cost $100,000. Council hopes staff can apply for available grants rather than pass the cost onto taxpayers. But as Janet Brown reports, advocates say it is not enough.
