Asked if police chase should be banned following a deadly crash on Highway 401 in Durham Region, Ont., Ontario Premier Doug Ford said on Tuesday that the province will do “everything we can to equip our police” and avoid high-speed chases, including by using helicopters. He also expressed his condolences to the four people killed in the “tragedy,” including an infant. The crash occurred following an LCBO robbery in Clarington, Ont., and a wrong-way pursuit with police onto the highway.
