One crew member has been confirmed dead after two Japanese military helicopters crashed late on Saturday, Japanese Defence Minister Minoru Kihara said. Seven other Self Defence Force members remain unaccounted for after the two SH-60K patrol helicopters lost contact east of Torishima, part of Japan’s Izu island chain.
