Speaking in Washington, D.C., on Monday, Minister of Innovation François-Philippe Champagne said that Canada has been “blocking a number of potential takeover by Chinese companies of mining entities” in the country and that he thinks this has resonated “very well” with their American counterparts. “People understand that we need to protect our economic security. We need to protect our critical supply chain,” Champagne said.
