February 26, 2024
After tabling Bill C-63, the Online Harms Act, on Monday, Justice Minister Arif Virani said in Ottawa that the bill “targets the worst of what we see online.” He added that his message was that “profit cannot be prioritized over safety” for online platforms and said that failure to abide by regulations will mean “significant monetary penalties” for companies.

After tabling Bill C-63, the Online Harms Act, on Monday, Justice Minister Arif Virani said in Ottawa that the bill “targets the worst of what we see online.” He added that his message was that “profit cannot be prioritized over safety” for online platforms and said that failure to abide by regulations will mean “significant monetary penalties” for companies.
