Together with B.C. Premier David Eby in Vancouver on Tuesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the federal government will be adding another $2 billion in financing to British Columbia's “transformative” plan to build more middle-income rental housing. Trudeau described B.C. as “the canary in the coal mine” for the country’s housing affordability crisis and encouraged other provinces to “take careful note” of Eby’s “visionary, progressive” leadership in addressing the problem.
