Cowichan Tribes reclaim jurisdiction over child and family services

Members of B.C.’s largest First Nation have voted to reclaim jurisdiction over their child welfare system from the province. Cowichan Tribes members have voted 83 per cent in favour of the new law, which aims to keep families together and end the practice of child removals.
