Burlington police chief Jon Murad said in an update on Monday that the lives of three college students of Palestinian descent “have been changed forever” in an “unprovoked and terrible crime” after a weekend shooting. Chittenden County state attorney Sarah Fair George also said that “Although we do not yet have evidence to support a hate crime enhancement, I do want to be clear that there is no question that this was a hateful act.”
