Senators’ Shane Pinto becomes first NHL player suspended for sports betting

The NHL has suspended Ottawa Senators centre Shane Pinto for 41 games for “activities relating to sports wagering.” As Mackenzie Gray reports, it’s the first time the league has banned a player for sports betting since online gambling was legalized in Canada and the U.S.
