There are renewed calls to save a Montreal-area forest from development. A new biodiversity study found that over 240 species of plants and animals call Pointe-Claire’s Fairview Forest home. The forest is set to be developed into the West Island’s downtown. But for years, citizens and environmentalists have been pressuring the owners, CF Cadillac Fairview, to drop the plan.
