Self-employment is becoming less enticing for Canadians, according to research by RBC. In fact, entrepreneurship rates in the country are down: in the ’90s, 18 per cent of Canadians were self-employed, and now that number sits at 13 per cent. Nivrita Ganguly explains, high wages, soaring inflation and the pandemic have accelerated a decline in Canada’s self-employment rate.
