In 2019, the White Rock Pride Society filed a discrimination complaint against a parish that declined to rent its hall to the group for its annual fundraising gala.

The proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Alexandra Neighbourhood House, which operates programs for LGBTQ seniors and youth in South Surrey.
