Environment Canada said a tornado touched down in Uxbridge during Saturday's storm, which felled trees, downed powerlines and caused extensive property damage in certain areas.

The storm was severe enough for Environment Canada to issue a broadcast-intrusive emergency alert that goes out to television, radio stations and mobile phones.
