The United States is leading the push to suspend Russia from the council following the apparent discovery of murdered civilians in Kyiv’s suburbs over the weekend.

The council met Saturday at the request of the United States after Washington and a string of countries in the region recognized Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido as head of state and urged President Nicolas Maduro to step down.

Don't expect the United States to step in and resolve what is increasingly being described as an ethnic cleansing campaign against Myanmar's Rohingya Muslims.
