Five organizations in Saskatchewan are receiving federal funding to help with the phase out of coal after an announcement made on Friday.

The United Mine Workers of America says Grande Cache Coal served notice to union members Monday that it will stop operating its strip mine and coal cleaning plant just north of the remote town on Feb. 3.
