Parliamentary budget officer Yves Giroux's latest estimate is $17 billion more than the government's stated price for the 15 warships.

The project, which originally had a budget of $26 billion, is now $60 billion and is the largest military procurement in Canadian history.

Alion Science and Technology, has asked the Federal Court to quash the government's decision to award the $60B contarct to Lockheed Martin, saying Lockheed's design did not meet the navy's stated requirements and should have been disqualified.
