Forecasters predict Hurricane Helene could reach Category 4 strength in the Gulf of Mexico, with sustained winds reaching up to 250 kilometres per hour.

Hurricane watches were issued for parts of Cuba, Mexico and a stretch of the Florida coastline, including Tampa Bay, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
