BC Wildfire said Friday that the Kamloops Fire Centre saw a number of new wildfires start Thursday night following thunderstorms and lightning activity throughout the area.

Anyone found in contravention of the fire ban could face a ticket of $1,150 or be required to pay an administrative penalty of up to $10,000.
