The announcement comes after Buster Murdaugh, the surviving son of convicted killer Alex Murdaugh, made a statement denying his involvement in 19-year-old Stephen Smith's death.

The body of 19-year-old Stephen Smith was found badly injured about 15 miles (24 kilometres) from the home of the now-infamous Murdaugh family.
