After a week of fighting, fire crews have now 100 per cent contained the Smith Creek wildfire burning in West Kelowna.

The fire is estimated at 280 hectares and is still only 60 per cent contained. A crew of about 100 is working on the fire. Relief comes this week from firefighters brought in from Ontario, Manitoba and New Brunswick.

The Emergency Operation Centre has lifted the order for residents in the Tallus Ridge neighbourhood as of 12:00 noon Monday, July 21st.
