Shoppers Drug Mart is moving away from its medical cannabis distribution business and preparing to transfer patients to a platform run by biopharmaceutical company Avicanna Inc.

Loblaw has previously said it believes pharmacists and pharmacies should play a role in medical marijuana distribution.
