AHS said 206 people had confirmed shigella diagnoses and 139 of those people had to be hospitalized during the outbreak primarily affecting Edmonton's inner-city population. 

There are more than 2,800 homeless people in Edmonton, according to a count by Homeward Trust Monday. Almost a third of those people are sleeping outside.
