The world's most powerful particle accelerator is set to receive a significant helping hand from Canada as it undergoes major performance-boosting upgrades.

It's not your average junior high school science experiment. Students from Sir George Simpson Junior High School in St. Albert have sent food to the edge of space to study the effects of UV radiation - setting the bar much, much higher when it comes to science projects at school.
