An Alberta consumer is warning others to read the warranty and fully understand it before buying a big ticket item after he said he got the runaround from Samsung.

Jen Brar of Brampton was excited about getting her new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smart phone delivered last month. But just weeks after she began using the device, she was dismayed to find out it was linked to battery fires.

Samsung says it wanted to start over from scratch for its forthcoming new smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
