Nearly two dozen new safe needle disposal boxes have been installed in locations throughout Edmonton.

In an effort to reduce the harmful amount of used drug equipment from remaining on the streets, Mainline sparked an initiative to put needle drop boxes throughout the area to increase access to safe disposal methods.

Capital City Clean Up has noticed unsafely discarded needles are showing up in more parts of Edmonton than just downtown.
