Lawyers for a group of Canadians affected by cancer they blame on exposure to a weed killer have filed three proposed class-action lawsuits against the product's manufacturer, alleging Bayer and Monsanto knowingly endangered lives.

According to an Alberta dairy farmer, the ramifications of a recent U.S. jury award against the maker of the world's most widely-used weed killer are worrisome.

Monsanto's response: "Today’s decision does not change the fact that more than 800 scientific studies and reviews... support the fact that glyphosate does not cause cancer..."
