Councillors with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo took steps to address the growing frustration expressed by rural and indigenous groups around Fort McMurray Tuesday night following an impassioned address at the council meeting by a spokesperson for the Rural Stakeholders Group.

A coalition of several rural and indigenous communities in the area say the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is earmarking a disproportionate amount of tax dollars on the urban centre of Fort McMurray and plans to call for major changes to how the region's governing body is structured on Tuesday.
