Social and human rights activist claim African Nova Scotians and people of colour continue to have their complaints dismissed due the commission “dropping the ball.”

A group of about 20 protesters, the majority of whom were African Nova Scotian employees of the HRM, gathered outside of City Hall on Tuesday to protest what they say is the city's slow pace to implementing diversity.

Sheppard believes a full inquiry into what happened with Lionel Desmond would help the system overall - regardless of ethnicity.
