Regardless of who wins the race to become leader of Alberta's United Conservative Party later this month, the Angus Reid Institute says that man "will find himself on a relatively promising path to the premier's office," based on the latest results of a quarterly poll.

The poll also found that 31 per cent agreed with removal of the name.

Four years after voters gave Stephen McNeil and the Liberals a healthy majority, his campaign is stumbling towards election day on May 30, giving his PC and NDP rivals an opening.
