A little more than a year after wildfire tore through Parkland County, destroying much of Pembina River Tubing, the popular summer destination has officially reopened.

About 100 kilometres west of Edmonton, the Pembina River is a popular spot for people looking to enjoy a day on the water but RCMP say people tubing down the waterway need to exercise caution when doing so.

Mitchell Pawluk is one of the 18 tubers whose actions on the Pembina River this summer required help from search and rescue crews and spurred RCMP to issue a safety reminder.
