Premier Doug Ford reiterated his position that people should apply to a federal program. However, advocates say it doesn't provide immediate support to workers who need it.

"There has to be, as of right, paid sick days for every worker in the province of Ontario -- not some process where you have to make applications," Andrea Howarth said on Tuesday.
