The townhouse property, known as the 'Oasis Hostel,' hit the market with a list price of $965,000 after a B.C. Supreme Court judge ordered its sale in June.

"I hope it sells quickly and that we can actually get reimbursed for the moneys paid out. It's money we don't have," said one of Emily Yu's neighbours.

B.C. Supreme Court Justice Barry Davies ordered the sale of the Oasis Hostel in North Vancouver, owned by Emily Yu.

"Today is a reckoning day for Ms. Yu," said lawyer Steve Hamilton, who represents the strata.

Emily Yu had been found in contempt of court after ignoring a judgment that ordered her to stop using her North Vancouver townhome for short-term rentals.

She told the tribunal that she has a mental disability as a result of a concussion and the hostel is essential to her income.
