Bezos' investigators have suggested the Enquirer's coverage of his affair — which included the release of risque texts — was driven by dirty politics.

Jeff Bezos, chief executive of Amazon, has accused the owner of the National Enquirer of trying to blackmail him with the threat of publishing "intimate photos."
