Lead artist Marven Nelligan said the entire team that worked on the project was comprised of people and companies from the north end.

The installation contains six panels, which use Egyptian hieroglyphics to encapsulate the journey of Africans who came to North America on slave ships and moved up through the United States to Nova Scotia.
