The owner of a Toronto-area jewelry store fought off a group of masked thieves using a broom in a video that has gone viral. Now, he's speaking out.

York Regional Police said security at a Markham, Ont., mall contacted them Saturday to report red and white graffiti on the property which was later painted over by staff.

York Regional Police said officers were called to the Markham GO station just before the robbery with a report of a suspicious package. Investigators said it's believed the call was an attempt to distract officers away from the mall.
