Hezbollah and its political allies looked set to win more than half the seats in the election, according to preliminary results cited by politicians and Lebanese media.

Sunday’s parliamentary election in Lebanon was the first in nine years — and the first since the catastrophic civil war in Syria broke out seven years ago.
