Hay River's mayor said workers are busy bringing essential services online, and hope remains that residents will be allowed to start coming back this weekend.

A Northwest Territories official says pre-registration for flights will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday for wildfire evacuees from Hay River, Enterprise and K'atl'odeeche First Nation.
