Barrie's unemployment rate dropped to five per cent in January, down from 5.2 per cent in December, according to Statistics Canada's most recent labour force survey.

According to new numbers released by Statistics Canada, Barrie's unemployment rate dropped to 4.8 per cent, falling from the five-per-cent rate recorded in November.
