The recent slayings moved California up five slots to 26th place on the number of fatal mass shootings per capita in the U.S. since 2006.

The shootings occured on the outskirts of Half Moon Bay, a city about 50 kilometers south of San Francisco, just days after the mass shooting in Monterey Park.
