They Fredericton Exhibition is taking legal action against the City of Fredericton, claiming it violated a perpetual lease agreement by blocking a mortgage and declining subleases on the Exhibition grounds.

The City of Fredericton is looking to redevelop the downtown land currently being leased to the Fredericton Exhibition, but FREX board members say moving the grounds to another location could have a negative impact on business.

Fredericton Exhibition organizers say the seven-day event was a success and say they had a great 190th anniversary year.
