Countless communities across the Okanagan have been hit by flooding over the years, yet very few have actually been mapped as a flood plain.

For one Lumby B.C. resident, the spring flooding season has started with an unwanted lake outside of his home. For the past three days, Marvin Moore has been running a sump pump, moving an average of 9,500 gallons of water an hour.

Will global warming turn a good part of Vancouver's waterfront into a flood plain? The city's staff is apparently already planning for that possibility.
