Mendicino says the federal government is ``looking at a variety of options'' to carry out a planned buyback of banned firearms -- including enlisting outside help.

Shandro's announcement comes after the province passed Bill 1, the Alberta Sovereignty Within a United Canada Act, on Dec. 8.
