Said to be the first of its kind in Canada, the Quebec transport ministry has pulled the plug on the city of Brossard's pilot project for traffic calming due to safety concerns.

The EARL traffic light is red by default but turns green when drivers proceed at the permitted speed limit. The goal of the pilot project is to get drivers to slow down.
