Edmonton is selling the former municipal airport lands as a sustainable, inner-city community unlike any other.

Companies are lining up for a chance to help with building the district energy system at Edmonton's Blatchford neighbourhood, and Mayor Don Iveson says federal and provincial carbon tax revenue could help get the job done.

It's not yet known how the future Blatchford neighbourhood will look and feel, but the city will soon begin prepping the site for the essentials you won't see: underground utilities.
