Decorated marathon runner Ed Whitlock, who famously smashed records well into his 70s and 80s, died Monday, just a week after his 86th birthday.

A Milton, Ont., man claimed a world record during the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sunday, posting the fastest run in the 85-90 age category.
