A doctor at a Georgia facility is accused of performing unwanted hysterectomies and other procedures done on detained immigrant women that jeopardize their ability to have children.

The request comes amid allegations that detainees in a Georgia detention facility had improperly received hysterectomies, along with an earlier allegation of sexual abuse at the Texas border.

In a complaint filed Monday, a nurse alleges that the Irwin County Detention Center performed questionable hysterectomies, refused to test detainees for COVID-19 and shredded medical records.
