In Canada, COVID-19 hospitalizations are trending in the right direction — though thousands still remain hospitalized as a result of contracting the virus.

WHO's weekly epidemiological report, released late Tuesday, showed that case counts fell 17 per cent worldwide over the last week while deaths globally declined 7 per cent.
