A former top CBC executive who became a casualty of the Jian Ghomeshi scandal is suing the broadcaster for wrongful dismissal, saying he was scapegoated for political reasons.

The CBC announced it is "severing ties" with two executives associated with the Jian Ghomeshi controversy ahead of the release of an independent investigation into how the CBC handled the scandal.
