Doctors and community leaders gathered at Nanaimo's hospital Tuesday to press the provincial government for a cardiac program that would serve overhalf the island's population.

The KGH Foundation has launched a $7 million campaign called 'Right Here at KGH' to help bring an electrophysiology to the hospital.

Called 'Right Here at KGH,' the campaign will lead to the creation of an electrophysiology lab, where doctors will be able to examine the heart's electrical system to determine why a patient has an abnormal heart rhythm and what treatment is best.
